Ptch Makes Creating, Sharing & Remixing Memories Simple on the iPhone

Sharing all the photos and videos we take on our iPhones is fun, but overwhelming for friends and family, especially when it comes to sharing a whole vacation or a weekend adventure.

Ptch is a free iPhone app that hopes to help change the way we capture and share memories, by pulling together photos and videos with music and easy to apply themes and plenty of social integration.

Unlike static slideshows and shared videos, friends can re-ptch the story, making for a fun re-telling of events from multiple viewpoints.

I’ve been using the app for the past day, and created a quick ptch from my recent trip to San Francisco. I’m please with the result and the ease of creating. I especially like that ptch allows me to use a range of music from known artists, instead of limiting me to the few tracks I have on my phone or generic tunes.

Ptch connects to Tumblr, Facebook, Google+, Instagram, Twitter and Viddly as well as the iPhone camera roll. I wish the app could connect to my Photostream, but a quick workaround is to save photos from the Photostream to the camera roll.

Ptch allows users to drag and drop photos and videos from these sources into a timeline where captions, title cards and more can be added to the ptch. Creating a ptch takes just a few minutes and users can share them to Facebook, Twitter and by email.

I’m not normally a fan of sharing apps like this as they are often clunky and over eager to share, but ptch feels like a fluid solution to sharing memories and I’m looking forward to sharing memories and seeing how friends remix a weekend trip or a concert.

The app is backed by DreamWorks Animation and runs on the iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod Touch and iPad.
