Samsung Galaxy S III Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Update in the Works

The Samsung Galaxy S III Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update is reportedly in the works and it could come as early as next month.

According to SamMobile, Samsung is planning the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the recently released Samsung Galaxy S III and if all goes well, then we should see a roll out take place in either August or September.

Those months are apparently not yet set in stone.

Samsung has yet to confirm Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for the Galaxy S III, but there was never any doubt that the phone would get it considering how new it is and what kind of specifications it has on board.

We assume the update, like most Android updates, is going to roll out first for the unlocked and international versions of the Galaxy S III which means that Galaxy S III owners in the United States might be waiting until October or longer for the update to finally arrive.

American carriers are notoriously slow at getting their devices upgraded with the latest Android software and we don’t expect anything to change with the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy S III.

We expect Samsung will confirm the good news at some point soon, and possibly update customers on a roll out window for the software.

The Galaxy S III Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update is in the works it seems.

HTC has already confirmed Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for its HTC One series devices including the HTC One X and HTC One S, so Samsung could very well follow suit.

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean has begun to roll out to owners of the Nexus S and Samsung Galaxy Nexus HSPA+ and those should be followed by the Motorola Xoom and the other Samsung Galaxy Nexus phones.

Once those roll outs are complete, we expect other devices to see the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update.

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is going to bring a lot of new features to the tablet including Google Now, better Voice Search, offline Voice dictation, a smoother UI, new Notifications options, and more.
