Good news for Samsung Galaxy S II owners as the company appears to be testing the Samsung Galaxy S II Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for a possible release sometime in the future.
SamMobile is reporting that Samsung has finished up its first test of the Android 4.1 Jelly bean update and that the testing was successful which bodes well for a possible update in the future.
The Samsung Galaxy S III update is also in the works and apparently, if that update performs well, and the testing goes well, Samsung will update the Galaxy S II with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

So while that’s not exactly amazing news, it’s nice to know that there is at least a possibility that the update will roll out to the Galaxy S II.
Samsung, for its part, has not confirmed anything, though it has said that it will update device owners about the status of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean in the future.
The Samsung Galaxy S II, despite being replaced by the Samsung Galaxy S III this summer, is still in the hands of millions of owners so it’s no surprise that Samsung is at least thinking about upgrading the phone with Google’s latest software.
Unfortunately, there is still no timeline for the update so it could be awhile before we see the Galaxy S II updated with the Android 4.1 update.

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean has begun to roll out to owners of the Nexus S and Samsung Galaxy Nexus HSPA+ and those should be followed by the Motorola Xoom and the other Samsung Galaxy Nexus phones.
Once those roll outs are complete, we expect other devices to see the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update.
