Motorola Xoom Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Update Roll Out Imminent
The Motorola Xoom Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update roll out is imminent as the changelog for the update has been posted and members of Motorola’s testing community have been greeted with a soak test.
Last night, owners of the Xoom who are part of Motorola’s testing community were greeted with an Android 4.1 Jelly Bean soak test which not only allows Motorola to test the update before rolling it out to the masses but it’s also a sign that the update is close to rolling out.
Adding to that theory is the fact that the changelog for the update has been brought to the surface by Droid-Life. The changelog details all of the new features that will be coming to the Motorola Xoom once Android 4.1 Jelly Bean arrives.
While the listed features have to do with Android 4.1 itself, we assume there will be some bug fixes and enhancements on board as well.
Sadly, we still don’t know when the official roll out will take place. It could be a matter of hours or it could be a few days before the general public sees the Xoom Android 4.1 roll out.
Assuming all goes smoothly, we don’t expect the wait to be too long.
As for those who are waiting for the 4G LTE Motorola Xoom to get the update, don’t expect that to roll out soon as Motorola will have to partner up with Verizon on that one and that partnership often makes for some long waits for major Android updates.
The Xoom is the third device to see the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update, joining the Nexus S and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus HSPA+ as devices that have received Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and all of its new features.
Next in like are the 4G LTE Xoom and the Galaxy Nexus’ on Verizon and Sprint.
