Motorola Droid RAZR HD Battery Size Revealed

Published

on

One of the biggest mysteries regarding the upcoming Motorola Droid RAZR HD, its battery size, may have been revealed by the FCC filing that surfaced yesterday.

As noted by Droid-Life, the filing seems to confirm the size of the Droid RAZR HD’s battery size as 2,530 mAh and not the massive 3,300 mAh battery that many owners had been hoping for.

The 3,300 mAh battery is the same battery found in the Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX and it’s one of the main reasons why the device has been selling like hot cakes over the course of the year. It provides 21 hours of continuous talk time and it mitigates a lot of the battery drain issues caused by Verizon’s 4G LTE network.

The Motorola Droid RAZR HD battery may be smaller than most people wanted.

This is yet another piece of the Droid RAZR HD that seems to have been confirmed and while it might not be the kind of news prospective owners were looking for, 2,530 mAh is still a pretty good sized battery and it should provide owners with ample battery life.

In fact, the battery in the Droid RAZR HD is a larger battery than what most current high-end smartphones have. The Samsung Galaxy S III, the top of the line Android phone at the moment, has a 2,100 mAh battery.

The release date for the Motorola Droid RAZR HD remains unclear. We have not yet seen any specific dates pop up and we have yet to hear anything from either Motorola or Verizon so the device currently is in the dark.

We however do have a  pretty good idea about what to expect from the release date and the phone itself.

The device is supposedly going to be launching with an HD 720p display, a Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor, a 12MP or 13MP camera, 4G LTE data speeds, and now, it appears, a 2,530 mAh battery.

How does that sound? Disappointed about the battery size?

Size matters. So does being fettered by having to seek a recharge station too often.
