More Info on the HTC Rezound Ice Cream Sandwich Release Date

By  |  9 Comments

On the heels of yesterday’s leak, we have received some more information about the HTC Rezound Ice Cream Sandwich release date that should provide owners with a little more clarity.

Yesterday, we saw a document leak out that showed that the HTC Rezound Ice Cream Sandwich update was approved and that it had entered Verizon’s update queue. The roll out dates were still shown as TBD, To Be Determined.

Unfortunately, we don’t have a solid date for the HTC Rezound ICS update to share but we do have some additional information in regards to what’s going on with the queue process and the update itself.

We have received more info on the HTC Rezound ICS update.

We have been told that the update is indeed in the queue but that there are a few items that need to be take care of before the update rolls out to owners. We weren’t told exactly what those items were only that they need to dealt with before the software goes out.

Just because the update is in the queue, doesn’t mean it will roll out soon. It could be tomorrow or even next month before HTC and Verizon decide to unleash it to the public.

However, we’ve been told that the update is supposedly going to be released sooner rather than later which seems to add some steam behind an imminent launch. We still don’t have a firm release date though HTC has said that the update would arrive before the end of July and we imagine that the companies are trying to get it out in that time frame.

So, it looks like we’re closer than ever to the HTC Rezound Ice Cream Sandwich release date even though the release date itself remains unclear.

An HTC rep has claimed that the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update would be out before the end of July with the roll out continuing into August and at this point, we have no reason to doubt that as being the case, especially when HTC has posted details about the update not once, but twice on its website.

We’ll let you know when we hear something more concrete.

I believe this article more than the others but I will believe it when I see it. It is a shame that considering that the source code for ICS has been out so long and it has taken this long for HTC to update it flagship phone for verizon, yet there were phones that have barely come out running gingerbread and have already been updated to ICS, and the rezound was supposedly “ready for ICS” seems like it wasn’t ready. I still think Verizon is to blame for the delay more than HTC. Verizon probably couldnt get their bloatware to work on ICS. Also it seems like verizon put all their time into promoting the motorola razr and forgetting about this better phone.

Like all the other BS sites releasing info about ICS, this fake too. Eversince i bought my Rezound, I have seen people write crap on the internet just to get their name out in hopes they might be right! If u have solid proof, publish the crap, if you dont, dont say a damn thing.

What happened to honor? When something is said, mean it. It’s like a hand shake, it is a contract.
Someone must have asked for change, a long time ago, and we surely got it.
