According to U.S. carrier T-Mobile USA, the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for the T-Mobile Springboard 4G tablet will be rolling out as an over-the-air software update starting on August 15th. The Springboard 4G is made by Huawei and is a re-branded version of the Huawei MediaPad 7-inch.

The update will not only bring Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich to the T-Mobile Springboard tablet, but will also bring a number of improvements, including better memory management and better WiFi connectivity.

“This important software upgrade contains key improvements to Wi-Fi connection, improved touch experience and additional bug fixes to address occasional resets and SIM Card recognition.  Although you will not be charged for data usage, a Wi-Fi network is highly recommended.  Please make sure that the tablet is plugged into a wall outlet or has a minimum of 50% battery life before you install the update.

You can read more about the changes that will be included with the new OTA software update on T-Mobile’s support site.
