Samsung Galaxy S II Jelly Bean Update Rolling Out in September or October?

Published

on

The Samsung Galaxy S II Jelly Bean update reportedly tested well which means that a roll out to the device should begin later this year.

According to SamMobile, the testing of the Galaxy S II Jelly Bean update, which was said to have been taking place recently, went well and it would appear that Samsung will indeed be rolling out the software to users in the months ahead.

The target months right now include September or October for a roll out though those months likely signify the roll out for the international version of the device and not the U.S. models. American carriers are notoriously slow about updating their devices with the latest software so it could be that owners will be waiting until 2013.

The Galaxy S II could get Jelly Bean next month.

Jelly Bean for the Galaxy S II will evidently be pushed out through the Samsung Kies software which means that it likely won’t be rolling out Over-the-Air.

It also looks like the version of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for the Galaxy S II will be Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean, the version that is currently available on the Nexus 7 tablet.

Of course, Samsung hasn’t confirmed anything just yet and that leaves the door open for anything to happen. Major Android updates often get pushed back due to stability issues and the Galaxy S II Jelly Bean update could definitely see the same thing go down.

So far so good though and September and October should be the months that folks circle on their calendars.

The Samsung Galaxy S II was recently reported to be in testing and it was said that if testing went well, and went well on the Samsung Galaxy S III as well, then Samsung would decide to roll the update out to the aging Galaxy S II. It originally was rumored for Q4. October sits in Q4.

Samsung’s Galaxy S III is rumored to be getting Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on August 29th, the same day that the company will announce the Samsung Galaxy Note 2.

Like the Galaxy S II update, there is still no confirmation from Samsung about any specific details about the roll out which means August 29th could come and go without any word.

This is great news. I can’t wait for Jelly Bean, once the update for the S2 is released I will be buying more Samsung phones in the future. I’m very excited to see Samsung supporting its products, just like allot of other people I was giving up on Samsung but this update will renew my faith in Samsung. Being that the s2 is still one of the most popular phones in the world and still is high in sales allot of people are going to be pleased when Jelly Bean rolls out for there S2. I know I will be!
