Transformer Pad 300 Jelly Bean Update Now Available to All U.S. Owners

Earlier this week, Asus rolled out the Transformer Pad 300 Jelly Bean update to select customers. However, now, the company has made the update widely available for all Transformer Pad 300 owners to download.

According to Reddit, courtesy of Android Police, Asus has posted the update to its support website for owners of the Wi-Fi only U.S. model of the Transformer Pad 300.

The update was originally rolled out Over the Air (OTA) but it’s unclear if it still is. Those who don’t want to wait around for the update can now head to Asus’ website to manually install the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software.

Asus’ roll out of Jelly Bean for the Transformer Pad 300 comes shortly after the company announced that it would be rolling out the update for three of its tablets in the future.

Asus previously confirmed the roll out for the ASUS Transformer Pad 300, ASUS Transformer Pad Prime and ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity and the Transformer Pad 300 is the first to get the software.

The update itself is very big, checking in at well over 400MB in size. This means that those who choose to manually install the update will likely want to block some time out in order to install it. It could take awhile.

Asus has long been known to deliver updates in a timely manner and this time around, with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, it’s no different.

It promised the update and it delivered and we expect that it will do the same for the Transformer Pad Infinity and Transformer Prime in the relatively near future.

This also means that Asus was able to beat several Nexus devices here in the United States to Jelly Bean including the Galaxy Nexus on Verizon and Sprint and the Nexus S 4G on Sprint.
