LG Teases 4.7-Inch Quad-Core Smartphone (Video)
In a video, LG has teased a new upcoming 4.7-inch smartphone that features a new a quad-core Snapdragon S4 chip inside of it.
According to The Verge, the company posted the video, which is in Korean, to show off not only the device itself, but the powerful processor that is going to power it.
In the video, we see that LG is going to be putting a Snapdragon S4 Pro processor inside the unnamed device and that it will be coming with Adreno 320 graphics.
The company says that the new chip will blow the chips in current devices out of the water and at this point, we have no reason not to believe it.
It appears that LG will be posting five more videos teasing what’s to come though the company remains mum on exactly when those videos will be released.
We’ve already heard about two such phones, both of which could be possibilities for this device. In July, we heard about a phone called the LG Spectrum 2 which is rumored to sport a 4.7-inch True IPS HD and a dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor.
It’s also said to have:
- 1GB of RAM
- 16GB of internal storage
- 8-megapixel rear camera
- NFC support
- Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich
We have also heard about the LG Optimus G, another device that apparently sports a 4.7-inch True IPS HD display along with a quad-core processor whose GHz count is unknown, 2GB of RAM, and a 13MP camera in the rear.
So, LG has a bit of a mystery for consumers though we expect the company to clear things up with the future videos and at IFA 2012 in Berlin where it will likely announce new hardware.
We’ve heard that the Optimus G will be landing on shelves next month so it makes sense that the company would announce the phone in just a couple of days at the trade show.
