Verizon Galaxy Nexus Jelly Bean Update Test Build Rolls Out

Published

on

It appears that Verizon is in the midst of testing a large update for the Verizon Galaxy Nexus and it looks like its the elusive Jelly Bean update for Verizon’s version of the Nexus.

According to Droid-Life, a user on XDA-Developers forums named El Madhatter posted a screenshot of an update for the Verizon Galaxy Nexus titled JRO03O which is likely a test version of the Verizon Galaxy Nexus’ Jelly Bean update.

El Madhatter is apparently in possession of a test device so it’s unclear exactly what this means for general users of the Verizon Galaxy Nexus. It could be that the update is close or it could be that the update is still a little bit off as this doesn’t seem like a soak test. Fueling the the latter theory is the fact that Verizon hasn’t posted any details about the update on its website, something that often happens before a roll out.

This is likely a Jelly Bean test build for the Verizon Galaxy Nexus.

Whatever the case may be, this is great news for the Verizon Galaxy Nexus and its owners, even while Verizon continues to remain mum on the subject.

Verizon owners have been waiting patiently for the Jelly Bean update ever since Google announced that “all Galaxy Nexus” devices would be next up for the update.

Thus far, none of the Nexus smartphones in the United States have seen the update, including Sprint’s Galaxy Nexus and the Nexus S 4G for Sprint. The devices already were beaten to Jelly Bean by an Asus tablet, the Transformer Pad 300.

However, it appears that Verizon, at the very least, is making progress with the update and hopefully that will translate into a roll out in the not-so-distant future.

Owners of the device shouldn’t expect an announcement until shortly before the roll out.

We’re getting closer, Verizon Galaxy owners.

Hang in there.

Dear Verizon, The best you can do now is get it out ASAP and that will take you up in our eyes from totally sucking to slightly better than totally sucking. I think officially that means you really really suck. But its yet to be seen if you are going to deliver. Personally I believe you have it in you, Verizon, to not totally suck and I have faith that you will show us that you just really really suck.

Now that was funny. (Comment posted from my VZW Nexus, with its inexplicably sporadic data connection…)

You give Verizon too much credit. The company really really sucks. Totally sucking implies they’re the best at something.

This whole article is a fail. You can download the update straight from Google servers as long as your build number is IMM76Q
