Ahead of its launch, which is set to take place in just a few hours, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 leaked to the surface for the first time showing off its design, and its features.
Pocketnow unearthed the Galaxy Note 2 press release ahead of Samsung’s Unpacked event in Germany today and it reveals all of the details regarding the Galaxy Note 2.
The images show the Galaxy Note 2 resembling a giant version of the Galaxy S III, something that was rumored in the past. The design features curves and sports a physical home button on the bottom part of the bezel, just like the Galaxy S III.

As we confirmed earlier, the device is going to sport a 5.5-inch display with 1280×720 resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio, a 1.6GHz quad-core CPU that is likely Exynos in nature and an 8MP camera on the rear and a 1.9MP up-front.
Additionally, the Galaxy Note 2 will feature Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, as we confirmed earlier today and it will also possess a massive 3,100 mAh battery that should give it sufficient battery life.
As for the rest, it features a 9.4mm design, slightly thinner than the original, 16GB, 32GB and 64GB storage options, HSPA+ 21mbps connectivity, and it will apparently hit Europe in October.
U.S. release dates are unavailable at this time.
The device will also feature a new S-Pen that is longer and thicker than the original pen. It’s said that the design is much improved. There is also a new feature called Air View that, according to the press release, “allows users to hover with the S-Pen over an email, image gallery, or video to preview the content without having to open it.”
There are also several new gestures coming with the S-Pen including a new up swipe that will bring up a new navigation menu and there is also a new screen recorder feature.
All in all, it looks solid and we’ll bring you coverage live from Unpacked event in Berlin, Germany shortly.
