Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy Camera Simplify Sharing

Dropbox today announced that both the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and the Samsung Galaxy Camera will both be coming with deep Dropbox integration when they are released.

The company will be continuing its support of Samsung’s Galaxy-branded devices with the Galaxy Note 2 and the Galaxy Camera. The company already offers support for both the Galaxy S III and Galaxy-branded tablets.

For the first time, Dropbox says, the Galaxy Note 2 will be able to automatically sync up photos and videos stored within Dropbox to the Gallery application found within Android. Once a user opens up the Gallery app, they will be able to see the all of the media stored within the cloud.

This of course comes in addition to several other Dropbox features that will be on board when the Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy Camera are released.

The integration will allow users to share their content across all Samsung devices. This is a feature that’s already available on the Galaxy S III and various tablets but the Galaxy Note 2 and the Galaxy Camera are joining the party.

Additionally, both the Galaxy Note 2 and the Galaxy Camera will offer 50GB of Dropbox space for two years provided the user register’s the device for the service. This will allow owners to store media inside of the cloud, without taking up storage space on the devices themselves. This is perfect for the Galaxy Camera which will be taking 16MP photos which could eat up a lot of space.

Both devices were announced yesterday at IFA 2012 with the Galaxy Note 2 as the centerpiece of the show.

The new Galaxy Note 2 boasts a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED HD display, quad-core processor, 4G LTE data speeds, dual-cameras, and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

It will be on shelves in several regions in October. Samsung remains mum on a release date in the U.S.

As for the Galaxy Camera, it’s part smartphone part camera and it offers a 16MP camera and a full-on touchscreen that sports Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Many believe the Galaxy Camera redefined the consumer point-and-shoot camera though judgement should be reserved until the device actually hits shelves.
