Although Research in Motion has pushed back the launch date for its BlackBerry 10 operating system several times in the past, the company is ready to make a strong push once the software is released in 2013. Along with the release of BlackBerry 10, RIM will also debut six new smartphone devices that will be powered by the QNX-backed OS.

One, will be a touchscreen-only slate-style device with an HD display clocking in with 1280 X 720 pixels. The second will be a more traditional BlackBerry device with a candybar form factor, full QWERTY hardware keyboard, and a 720 X 720 display–the square resolution screen harks back to Palm’s Treo era.

According to Pocket-lintwhich was able to spend some extensive hands-on time with the devices, there is a lot to look forward to. All six devices will debut in early 2013 and are now awaiting carrier certification and testing:

The two devices are characteristically BlackBerry with design hues taken from the current range, but with a design ethos that carries the experience forward. If you’re a BlackBerry user, trust us when we say you’ll be excited.

Hopefully we’ll find out more information later this month with the commencement of the BlackBerry Jam Americas conference–formerly called the BlackBerry DevCon show–in San Jose, California.

As a blackberry user, i was thinking of migrating to other smartphones as blackberry has not been supporting free calls app like viber, skype, rebtel, tango. Plus the blackberry app world is so ordinary. I hope Rim will take this into consideration and make bb much more exciting as we wait for the new handset before we make the decision.

I think that blackberry makes a better quality device than any other platform hands down. I use a blackberry and have had an opportunity to use android which falls far short of blackberry os. Apple ios comes the closest but still falls short. I am crazy excited about the new blackberry products, but the phone I have now is so good I have no real reason to upgrade but I might anyways just because I can.
