Sprint Galaxy Nexus Jelly Bean Update Will Trickle Out to Users

Published

on

Yesterday, the Sprint Galaxy Nexus Jelly Bean update began rolling out to customers, though thus far, it appears that only a few Sprint Galaxy Nexus owners have received the update. And apparently, that’s because the update is going to slowly roll out to owners of Sprint’s Nexus device.

According to a Sprint representative, the Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy Nexus will roll out similar to the Nexus S 4G Jelly Bean update which also started to roll out yesterday.

Specifically, it will trickle out to owners over the next week or so. So that means that owners should remain patient in regards to the update.

Sprint says the Galaxy Nexus Jelly Bean update will roll out slowly.

Sprint is saying that owners should be prompted by the update which means that attempting to pull the update likely won’t work. Several users are claiming that they have pulled the update on Sprint’s forums though we remain dubious.

So, thus far, it looks like a majority, if not all, of Sprint Galaxy Nexus owners are in the dark when it comes to the update.

Sprint announced yesterday that the Galaxy Nexus Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update would start to roll out to users after they endured a lengthy wait for the software.

Jelly Bean is a huge upgrade over Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, the device’s previous software, and it comes loaded with a bunch of new features that should help to improve the experience on the Galaxy Nexus, one of Sprint’s 4G LTE  enabled smartphones.

Though the update is going to roll out slowly, it did beat the Verizon Galaxy Nexus Jelly Bean update to the punch. Sprint’s Galaxy Nexus was released several months after the Verizon Galaxy Nexus and now that the update is rolling out, the Verizon Galaxy Nexus is the only Nexus smartphone left in the U.S. without any sort official word about Jelly Bean.

Anyone seeing the update yet?

Go to settings, apps, all, then look for Google Services Framework.

Click Clear Data, then Force Stop

Then go to system updates and click check now.
