Last week, Sprint began rolling out the Galaxy Nexus Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update though it said that it would likely take more than a week for some customers to receive it.

The Sprint Galaxy Nexus Jelly Bean update will hit more users today.

Sprint’s announcement today could just mean that the roll out is going to be more widespread. After all, we heard from more people who hadn’t seen the update then from people who were toting Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Sprint says that the update cannot be pulled in the device settings though we have told owners that it is indeed possible to use a little trick to attempt to prompt the update.

If that trick doesn’t work, owners will have to wait for a prompt to arrive which will then allow them to download and install the sizable update.

Along with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, Sprint also reveals that the software comes with numerous enhancements for those Galaxy Nexus owners with disabilities.

With Jelly Bean, Nexus S 4G and Galaxy Nexus join the growing list of phones with added accessibility features for those with disabilities. It allows the blind to use “Gesture Mode” to reliably navigate the UI using touch and swipe gestures in combination with speech output. It also adds accessibility plugin support for external Braille input and output devices using Bluetooth and USB.

A fantastic touch to an already fantastic update.

So, for those that own a Sprint Galaxy Nexus, be on the look out for Jelly Bean. Or, if you’re impatient, try using the trick to get it right now.

I manually forced the update to my phone. It works! You can Google how to do it. I performed the recommended steps 4 or 5 times in quick secession. Worked like a charm. Had JB since last Wednesday.
