Sprint Galaxy Note 2 Rumors: 4G LTE, Quad-Core, Release Date

Published

on

It would appear that several details about the rumored Samsung Galaxy Note 2 for Sprint

leaked to the surface today, seemingly confirming many of the device’s features and its release window.

A user by the name of Mr. Ed on Android Forums claims to have knowledge about Sprint’s Galaxy Note 2 and its plans for release. This, of course, is not the first time we’ve heard about the Sprint Galaxy Note 2. The device has leaked out twice before this but never as extensively.

According to Mr. Ed, Sprint will be releasing the Sprint Galaxy Note 2 sometime in the fourth quarter of this year. That means either October, November or December. We assumed that this was going to be the case after Samsung said that the U.S. would be getting the device sometime later on this year but did not specify when.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 should arrive in late 2012.

He also says that the device will include most of the features that were announced back in August at Samsung’s Unpacked event before IFA 2012 in Berlin.

The Sprint Galaxy Note 2 will apparently come with a quad-core Exynos processor and 4G LTE which could mean that the Galaxy Note 2 is the first device to hit the U.S. with both a quad-core processor and 4G LTE.

In addition, it looks like the phone will indeed launch with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean when it launches in the United States later on this year.

At this point, this is all just rumor as Sprint nor Samsung has confirmed anything about the U.S. Galaxy Note 2 launch at this time. However, if those rumors are true, the Galaxy Note 2 could be an extremely intriguing device on Sprint and likely on other carriers as well.

The Galaxy Note 2 has been rumored for all five of the carriers that offer the Samsung Galaxy S III, a list that includes Sprint, AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon and U.S. Cellular.

The original Galaxy Note launched on AT&T, and later on T-Mobile.

It’s good to see that Samsung has enough power and popularity to dictate to the carriers instead of it always being the other way around. Now for the first time Apple will have real competition.

Apple will not have a competitor if samsung dont get on the ball & say a release date in the US. Samsung is losing business just by keeping consumers in the dark. Apple catch alot of attention & they will be announcing their product tomorrow. With no release date in sight consumer might budge on iphone 5!

I dont think so….most people who want the Note 2 are gonna wait for it…..the Iphone5 wont impact that imo. And vice versa

I agree, they should come up with a release date and people might think twice before to get the new iPhone

my wife will get the Iphone 5 but I’m holding out for the note 2. everyone in my family has Iphones and Ipads but I’ve had my droid x for over two years now with no problems and I prefer the androids much more. I’ll hold out as long as it takes. There will still be those people that may be dissatisfied with their current older droid phones and become impatient waiting for the note 2. Those people will most likely just go with the S3 or jump ship to apple. I agree with other posters that a US date of sorts would definately be in Samsungs best interest.

Now is the time for the release date for the Note 2. With the disappointed apple fans who wanted so much more for iphone 5, Samsung can pull consumers towards this device. Come on Samsung use your business sense as you have them right where you want them.

You are so right, Samsung needs to come on and release this bad ass device and steal away all of Apple’s customers.

I had been planning on purchasing a 7″ tablet, but now will wait for the Note-2. Tablet (phablet) and phone all in one. Can’t beat it.
