How to Watch the iPhone 5 Event Live

Published

on

The iPhone 5 event kicks off later today at the Yerba Buena Center in San Francisco, and users who want to be among the first to see the iPhone 5 and other new Apple products are looking for a live stream of the Apple event.

Apple routinely streams events to Apple devices, but as of this time Apple has not confirmed that it will provide a live stream of the iPhone 5 event. We’ve asked Apple for details, but we’re still waiting for a response.

Update: Apple Announces iPhone 5

We hope Apple choses to stream the iPhone 5 event live from an official feed, but if Apple fails to deliver, there are other ways to watch the iPhone 5 event as it happens.

Apple iPhone 5 Event Live

The iPhone 5 event takes place in this building.

The IPhone 5 event starts at 10 AM Pacific on September 12th. This is 11 AM Mountain, 12 PM Central and 1PM Eastern.

Watch the iPhone 5 Event Live in Video

Apple is the first place to check for a live stream of the iPhone 5 event. If Apple will stream the event live it will be on the events page. Apple only streams to Safari on the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and OS X computers, so Windows users are out of luck.

If there is no live stream from Apple, Justin.tv and uStream may feature an unoffocial live stream of the iPhone 5 event. These streams are generally low quality, but the closest many will get to being inside an Apple keynote.

If all the other options fail, TWIT with Leo Laporte is a good way to catch the iPhone 5 event live. Laporte and his co-hosts will share event news as it happens and are always on the lookout for live streams of video and audio to share with listeners.

If you find a live stream of the iPhone 5 event drop us a tip on Twitter.

Follow iPhone 5 Live Blogs

When live streams fail, live blogs are the next best thing. Many sites will post photos and word-for-word transcriptions of importnat quotes mixed with descriptions of what’s happening on stage.

Ars Technica and gdgt offers some of the best live blog coverage around, with great photos and accurate descriptions of what Tim Cook and other Apple execs are saying.

GottaBeMobile.com

As expected, the GottaBeMobile team is covering the iPhone 5 event, bringing the latest news and product announcements to our readers as soon as possible.

We’ll be adding insight into the Apple announcements and offering up plenty of advice on who should upgrade to the iPhone 5, why you’ll enjoy a taller display and sharing the rest of the expected products Apple announces.

You can follow our iPhone 5 event coverage on this landing page and check the home page for further updates.
