T-Mobile Galaxy Note 2 All But Confirmed

on

While it was rumored before, it now looks all but certain that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will be heading to T-Mobile at some point in the future.

SamMobile was told that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is indeed heading to T-Mobile, as was previously rumored earlier this month. To back up its claim, the site also found T-Mobile Galaxy Note 2 test firmware that it claims is the Jelly Bean update for the carrier’s upcoming device. The software obviously isn’t the update that will be rolling out with the device but it’s another sign that the T-Mobile Galaxy Note 2 is the real deal.

The news comes shortly after we got our first glimpse of a U.S. Galaxy Note 2 in the flesh with the Verizon Galaxy Note 2 leaking out early.

The T-Mobile Galaxy Note 2 will likely resemble this.

The T-Mobile Galaxy Note 2 will apparently come under model number SGH-T889, the same model number that we saw pop up in a screenshot earlier in September that seem to confirm the T-Mobile’s Galaxy Note 2’s existence.

As for specifications, it appears that the T-Mobile Galaxy Note 2 will run on HSPA+ and that it will be take on all of the characteristics of the device that was announced in August at an event in Germany.

That means that consumers should expect a device sporting a new S-Pen stylus, larger 5.5-inch display, quad-core processor, and of course, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

As for a release date, thus far, all we’ve heard is October 21st for the AT&T Galaxy Note 2 which is rumored to be coming alongside variants for T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon and quite possibly U.S. Cellular.

All five of those carriers currently host the Samsung Galaxy S3, Samsung’s current top of the line smartphone.

We imagine that carriers likely won’t launch the Galaxy Note 2 too far apart which means that that October 21st release date could be a date for several other carriers as well.

Thus far, all Samsung has said is that the Galaxy Note 2 will be released in October and the device will hit the U.S. later this year.
