iOS 6 Release Time Rumored for 10AM PST

We’re still not exactly clear about what time Apple will release iOS 6 to the public but current rumors have Apple possibly releasing the iOS 6 at 10AM PST, 1PM EST.

The rumor comes courtesy of a purported screenshot leak on Twitter, courtesy of CNET, that details supposed times for the iOS 6 release. Of course, Apple hasn’t confirmed anything just yet but 10AM is a completely feasible time for today’s iOS 6 release.

Last year, Apple released iOS 5 in the morning so it’s possible that it will do the same thing with the release of iOS 6.

iOS 6 may be released at 10AM PST.

Keep in mind, this is not confirmed so it’s possible that it may roll out sooner or later than 10AM but right now, that’s all we have to go on and it’s worth keeping in the back of your mind.

Today though is definitely the iOS 6 release date which means that iPhone, iPad and iPod touch owners will be getting the boost up to iOS 6 ahead of the iPhone 5 release on September 21st.

The software was first announced at WWDC 2012 where Apple revealed many of its new features and its release date and its 200+ new features were again confirmed earlier this month at Apple’s iPhone 5 event.

iOS 6 looks to be a fairly substantial improvement, feature-wise, over iOS 5 as it brings a lot of new to the table including a new Maps application with turn-by-turn directions, better sharing options, Facebook integration, more Siri features and more.

When it does become available, it will be available for the iPhone 3GS and up, iPad 2 and up and the iPod touch fourth generation. Devices older than those will not get the boost to iOS 6.

Last year’s roll out saw iDevice owners experience several problems and many had to wait through errors to get the software installed. Hopefully, Apple shored up those issues and today’s upgrade is a smooth process.

If it hasn’t, we’ll be sure to let you know.
