Acer had quietly shown off the 7-inch Iconia Tab A110 as early as the beginning of summer at the Computex tradeshow, but now the company has officially taken the wraps off of its 7-inch Nexus 7 rival. The Iconia Tab A110 shares many similar specs with Google’s Asus-made Nexus 7 tablet, though there are key differences, including pricing, which will offer some choices for users depending on what they demand.

Like the Nexus 7, the A110 will have a 7-inch display, though the display on Acer’s model will have slightly less pixels on it with an effective resolution o 1024 X 600, rather than the 1280 X 800 on the Nexus tablet. The device will have support for a micro SD slot and an HDMI port, which are features that are lacking on the Nexus tablet. Additionally, the A110 will ship with 8 GB of internal memory, which can be augmented with a micro SD card. There’s also a front-facing camera for video chatting and to get your Google Hangout on.

Like Google’s slate, this one will run on NVIDIA’s quad-core Tegra 3 Kai platform.

The tablet is rumored to be coming to the UK by the end of the month according to Unwired View, though Acer did not specify specific availability. Preorders are being taken right now for approximately the equivalent of $292. For comparison, Google’s tablet ships starting at $200.
