Lightning Cables Now In Stock at Many Apple Stores

Published

on

Despite not having any in stock for the iPhone 5 launch and delays on the website, Apple Stores across the U.S. now carry extra Lightning cables in stock for iPhone 5 users.

Lightning cables were nowhere to be found in Apple Stores on the day the iPhone 5 launched, but over the weekend stores started showing stock of the cables. The Lightning to USB cable was not available for purchase on Friday when the iPhone 5 launched, and remains hard to find at many carrier stores and retailers.

Before the iPhone 5 shipped Apple’s website listed the Lightning to USB cable as shipping in 1-2 weeks. Today the website lists the cable as shipping in 2-3 weeks instead, which makes Apple Stores the easiest place to pick up the cables.

Finding an Apple Store that has Lightning cables to sell is easy. Apple’s website gives users the option to pick up any item in stores, and users can use that to find out which stores have stock of the cables.

Users can also use the Apple Store app to find out which stores have Lightning cables to sell. Users simply search for the cable in the app, then add it to their cart. Once the cable is in the cart users can choose to purchase the cable and pick it up in stores, or just go to the store and buy it there without waiting for an employee to give them the cable.

After finding a store that has the cable available, the easier option is to walk in and use the Express Pay option in the Apple Store app to buy it using an Apple ID. It’s a quick process that doesn’t require waiting for an available employee, which is nice because most Apple Stores are likely crowded with people checking out the iPhone 5.

you know what would be cool. I love the size and ability of plugging this new cable into the phone whichever way, I would love to have an insertable adapter to my other devices ( ipad) so I could use the lighting cable with them as well, in essence the reverse of what everyone else wants.
would be cool if someone made one that would fit flush into the existing apple products
