Asus announced today that the Transformer Prime (TF201) Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update will start rolling out in the U.S. and owners of the quad-core tablet should see it start rolling out at some point in then near future.

The company took to Twitter to announce the software update saying that it will begin rolling out Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for the Transformer Prime at some point today, if it hasn’t already.

Thus far, we haven’t seen the update roll out though we imagine that it will become more widely available later in the day.

The Transformer Prime Jelly Bean arrives today for U.S. owners.

We also assume that most, if not all Transformer Prime owners will see the update become available on their tablet today though Asus does say that today is the start of the roll out which could mean some owners will be in for a little bit of a wait.

In addition, Asus says that the Jelly Bean update for the Transformer Pad Infinity (TF701) will be coming very soon though it’s mum on specific timing. Yesterday, the company said that both roll outs would take place within 72 hours so we imagine that it will come in the next day or so.

ASUS fans rejoice! TF 201 owners in the US should start seeing their Jelly Bean updates roll out today with a TF700 update coming very soon!

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is going to be a massive upgrade for both tablets and it will be bringing a number of new features to the table which should make the experience on both tablets an even better one.

Jelly Bean introduces a new user interface that is both smoother and faster than Ice Cream Sandwich . In addition, it will bring enhanced notifications, a new Google app drawer, re-sizable widgets, new Face Unlock options, and more.

The update should be a pretty sizable one so Transformer Prime owners will want to set aside some time to get the software downloaded and installed.

Anyone out there in the U.S. seeing the update yet?
