Droid RAZR HD & Droid RAZR MAXX HD Release Dates Facing Delays?

Published

on

Ever since Motorola announced that the Droid RAZR HD and Droid RAZR MAXX HD would be arriving before the holiday season, we imagined that they would be out before Thanksgiving in November. However, a new report claims that Motorola and Verizon might be postponing their release dates beyond that time frame.

According to PhoneArena, Motorola and Verizon may have pushed back the Droid RAZR HD and Droid RAZR MAXX HD release dates beyond Thanksgiving and Black Friday. They are apparently still working and likely still hopeful that the devices will indeed make it out before those dates but at this point, it’s apparently up the air.

The reason is supposedly due to an issue with the antenna on the devices. Evidently, the size and location of the antennas are causing problems and because they make contact with the outside edges of the device, the signal suffers over time when they are touched.

The Droid RAZR MAXX and RAZR MAXX HD may see a release beyond Thanksgiving.

Motorola and Verizon have not yet said anything about a possible delay which means that this should be taken with a grain of salt until November passes without a release. Previously, we had heard that the devices would be out in October though that, like this, was just a rumor.

Both devices are highly anticipated amongst not only fans of Motorola but also those in the Android community as they bring the solid RAZR design as well as HD displays. The Droid RAZR MAXX HD also brings a massive battery that will allow users to eat up 21 hours of continuous talk time or 8 hours when browsing the web using 4G LTE.

The Droid RAZR HD also has a massive 2,500 mAh battery as well.

With the iPhone 5 already out on shelves and the Galaxy Note 2 and a new Nexus likely to hit the U.S. later this year, Motorola and Verizon have little time to waste in getting these phones out to the public.

However, if history is any indication, see the Droid Bionic, it’s entirely possible that we could see a delay.

Could you wait past Thanksgiving for these devices to launch?

Man nothing but doom news about the 2 razrs, I may well just go for an HTC instead, I’m not going to wait much past November, so Moto had better get their arses in gear!

Man I hope this is untrue. Don’t pull another Droid Bionic Motorola, I’ve been looking forward to this phone for a long time but if I have to wait past black friday then I will choose another phone.

Yeah, i had my mind set on buying a Droid Razr Maxx before I heard the of HD version. If I have till wait past black friday I will probably just settle with the original Maxx. this is a real bummer

Wow!.. Google needs to crack down and start hiring quality staff for Motorola before it’s too late. Punit Soni is already off to a bad start with his lack of action with the ICS Bionic delay. If they care about their investments reputation for meeting deadlines? Then now is the time to step in.

If I have to fucking wait beyond thanksgiving…imma be fucking pissed!! I’ve been waiting for this phone for a long time. Even rejected both the iPhone 5 and the galaxy S3 for this phone. It better not be later than November. If it does imma try my best to convince ppl to not get the razr maxx hd! Done said!

Agreed! Every few months a new phone comes out. This is no different. I have the maxx and love its battery. I too am looking forward to the maxx hd. But you’re not going to hear me cry about it not coming out right when I want it to. If your current phone won’t make it another month or two, I’m sure you’ll figure something out. Motorola doesn’t owe you anything.

Sorry Motorola. love you guys so much but will NOT wait that long. went ahead and bought the SG3 because i was looking forward to oct. release. just tired of hearing about a new phone that i want and wait….and wait…and wait. this just proves that samsung and iphone 5 have hit motorola where it hurts because now theres no way your gonna outsell sg3 or iphone5. Heads up for all those waiting for maxxHD…. if your willing to wait that long i applaud you but go ahead and wait till January and get a really good price on them for like 99.00 or less due to the lack of sales from everyone that went ahead and bought the sg3 or iphone 5. i look forward to my next motorola phone in two years. hopefully then they will have learned how to compete

I just finished talking to motorola via their chat window and the rep stated that this was just a rumor and that there was not an offical release date available yet. I deff dont want to wait past thanksgiving. motorola will lose alot of customers if they dont put this phone out soon.

I doubt anybody is aware of it, but that quick settings screen to the left? Nokia did that a long time ago with Symbian, and there was more useful stuff on it.
Am still looking forward to the Maxx HD.

I waited forever for the Bionic and i’m stuck with Gingerbread. Now, no ICS & another delay waiting for the HD. Again remind me why I like Motorola products???

it’s funny how ppl are bitxchin about the wait.. however, if Motorola were to drop a phone with a crappy antenna and spotty service due to the poor quality antenna.. you’d have bad/complaining reviews on the phone and would’ve wanted them to fix the prob before dropping the phone in the first place. Sounds like you can’t win either way…esp with impatience ppl. I think the phone is worth the wait. By then iPhone hype will be old and they’ll be standing in the line for the 6.

Its probably the same fat asses that bitch in line at McDonalds because they have to wait an extra 30 seconds for a new batch of fries
