32GB Nexus 7 Price Revealed

Published

on

The new 32GB Nexus 7, rumored to be replacing Google’s current 16GB Nexus 7, has seen its pricing revealed today and it appears that Google will keep the 32GB Nexus 7 price the same as the older 16GB Nexus 7.

Android and Me unearthed a piece of evidence in a shelf tag that shows off what appears to be the finalizing pricing of the 32GB Nexus 7, a device that Google has yet to announce.

The photo reveals a retail price of £199.99 for the Nexus 7 32GB in the United Kingdom. This is the same price that Google sold the Nexus 7 16GB in the UK and should mean that Google will offer the 32GB model for the same price as the 16GB model in the United States as well.

This may reveal the price tag of the upcoming Nexus 7 32GB.

Currently, the 16GB Nexus 7 retails for $249.99 through the Google Play Store which means that the Nexus 7 32GB will likely cost the same when and if it arrives in the coming weeks.

The slip also confirms that the device will still have a Tegra 3 quad-core processor but no other specifications of the device are revealed. We imagine they will mirror the previous version of the Nexus 7. Also of note is the Ice Cream Sandwich logo where the Jelly Bean logo should be. At this point, we’ll just assume it’s a mistake from a retailer.

Google is also rumored to be releasing a $99 entry Nexus 7 device. That rumor was denied by Asus but it’s still entirely possible that Google will unleash the $99 Nexus 7 as well as this new 32GB Nexus 7 tablet sometime later this year, perhaps on October 29th, the rumored launch date for the new Nexus phone.

The new Nexus phone is thought to be the LG Nexus 4, a device which sports a 4.7-inch HD display, quad-core processor, two cameras, Jelly Bean or higher and a launch date of October 29th.

October 29th is the start of the All Things D: Dive Into Mobile conference, a conference that Andy Rubin, Google’s Android chief, will be speaking at. It’s the same conference where Rubin announced the Motorola Xoom and Android 3.0 back in 2010 and it could be that he announces these two Nexus 7 devices there, along with the new Nexus smartphone.

“Also of note is the Ice Cream Sandwich logo where the Jelly Bean logo should be.”

Yes, this definitely looks like a retailer’s mistake as right beneath the ICS logo it reads, “Android 4.1 Jellybean”.

I’m definitely curious to see if Google does reveal a $99 nexus tablet, a pure nexus tablet at that price would see like crazy this holiday season.

I think Goolge should offer a rebate to the people who just purchased the Nexus 7. I too just bought the 16gig tablet. I would be royaly pissed if they release a 32gig at the same price.

I bought my Nexus 7, 16Gig in July. If they took it back in exchange for the 32 gig, I wouldn’t mind at all if I had to pay extra. I am in love with my Nexus 7.

Bought a 16g, loved it! Returned it before the 14 day return expired and will buy the 32g on release day.

I’m in the UK and just sold my galaxy s2 to help pay for the nexus 7 but am holding off the purchase until 32gb becomes available. Based on all the evidence so far I’m not denying a 32gb is on the way but with all the internet chatter/hype going on at the moment regarding the price point I can’t help but be sceptical that this “might” be photoshop at work!

Nintendo created the ambassador program for those of us who bought the 3DS when it first came out, they reimbursed us with 20 free downloadable games. It would be nice to get some kind of compensation.
