iPad Mini Price, Storage Options & 3G Models Leaked

Wondering how much the iPad Mini will cost and if it will have built in mobile wireless broadband when the small slate launches? Ahead of Apple’s much anticipated and speculated announcement of the smaller-sized iPad, leaked prices for the slate have appeared on European consumer electronics retail giant Media Markt, which is a German electronics retailer akin to Best Buy in the U.S. The prices and storage configurations were first reported on Mobile Geeks, and the site sent us an email noting that the information is ‘not fake at all.’

Price listings are in Euros and we are assuming that the listed price includes Europe’s taxes included within the listed prices already.

The WiFi-only 8 GB iPad Mini model will start at 249 Euros, which is equivalent to $323 in the U.S. Other memory configurations include a 16, 32, and 64 GB. The 8 GB model would be the first time any iPad model would be available in that memory configuration as the 9.7-inch iPad had debuted with 16 GB being the smallest capacity you could buy since the first generation iPad.

Users could also add in a version with mobile broadband, presumably with 4G LTE in select markets, as well, which would increase the price of the tablet. This means that the highest model a user can order would be a 64 GB iPad Mini with 4G LTE and WiFi built-in–that model is priced at approximately 650 Euros, or roughly $840 in the U.S.

In comparison, a 9.7-inch third-generation iPad with Retina Display with 64 GB of storage and 4G LTE is priced at $830 in the U.S. before state sales taxes are added.

The iPad Mini is rumored to be focused on e-books and will help Apple compete against Amazon’s Kindle Fire and Kindle Fire HD, which both started at $200 when they launched. Google recently also announced a Nexus 7 slate, and that 8 GB model with quad-core CPU and a high resolution display starts at $200 as well.

The iPad Mini will have a 7.85-inch display and specs that are similar to the iPad 2 with the same display resolution. Likely, the iPad Mini will also support Apple’s latest Lightning dock connector, which first debuted on the iPhone 5.

Hello Mr. Nguyen, a Sam’s Club associate told me that all iPad Minis come with built-in 4G. Is it true?
