Because the iPad mini uses the same screen resolution as the iPad 2, all fo the existing 275,000 iPad apps work on the smaller tablet without the need for developers to update the apps.

The iPad uses the same Apple A5 processor as the iPad 2, which means users can use the iPad mini and an Apple TV to mirror the display. This allows users to play games like SketchParty.tv, a pictionary style iPad game, and to stream movies wirelessly from the iPad Mini to an HDTV by way of an Apple TV.
