Verizon Galaxy Note 2 Pre-Orders Starting at Midnight?

Published

on

While Verizon has yet to reveal any details in regards to its Samsung Galaxy Note 2 release date or pricing, we have heard that the carrier might be taking pre-orders for the Galaxy Note 2 starting at midnight tonight.

We have been informed by a reader who claims that multiple Verizon customer service representatives told him that pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will begin tonight at midnight. Verizon hasn’t announced anything yet so that definitely remains up in the air. But, given the fact that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 event will be taking place later today in New York City, it’s not out of the question.

The price of $299.99 was also apparently confirmed by several different representatives.

What’s more is that he was apparently told that the Verizon Galaxy Note 2 might not start shipping out until late November, specifically, November 29th. Apparently, it might have some sort of tie in with Black Friday. That seems way more outlandish than a pre-order starting at Midnight tonight and it could be that the customer service representative is confused. It could be that it ships out on October 29th, instead.

The Galaxy Note 2.

Of course, it remains a possibility given that Verizon hasn’t released any sort of information regarding the Galaxy Note 2, even while its competitors have. In fact, T-Mobile already launched the Galaxy Note 2, today, for $370 on-contract.

As for the others, Sprint plans to release its Galaxy Note 2 tomorrow, October 25th, while AT&T is slated to start taking pre-orders tomorrow with a release date slated for November 9th. U.S. Cellular, the remaining Galaxy Note 2 carrier, said that it would begin shipping its Galaxy Note 2 in October though it has yet to give out a specific release date for the phablet.

So, at this point, take the Verizon Galaxy Note 2 pre-order and the shipping date especially with a grain of salt. It’s possible that these consumer reps are confused and we already saw an AT&T rep pass off the Galaxy Note 2 pre-order date as the release date so it could just be another case of misinformed customer service reps.

Or, it could be that Verizon really isn’t planning on releasing its Galaxy Note 2 until late in November. Remember, Verizon released its Galaxy S III later than most of the other carriers so it might do the same with the Galaxy Note 2.

Hopefully, we’ll find out tonight.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is the latest phablet device from Samsung and it features a 5.5-inch HD display, quad-core processor, 4G LTE data speeds, S-Pen stylus, and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Thanks, Daniel!

I am seriously debating about going through sprint to get one instead of Verizon. I have waited all year for Verizon to get the note (starting with the first note which never came). And if they start playing games again like putting it off another month, I may have to go elsewhere. Especially since I can’t renew my unlimited plan.

Do you have to catch a flight that you cant wait for another month?

Don’t switch to Sprint unless you hate 4G or live in one of the three towns in Nebraska that Sprint provides it for. I’ve waited two years for Sprint to provide 4G service to my 4G phone, paying for it all the while. I’ve been on Sprint since 2000 and don’t have any other issues. It’s just become evident that they’re more likely to go belly up before I ever see 4G. I’ve already decided to switch to Verizon. Besides, Sprint’s “unlimited” doesn’t REALLY mean “unlimited”, and I HIGHLY doubt it will even be available much longer.

Well November 15th is a Thursday and usually VZW does Thursday releases. Didn’t Samsung say it would be out by November 15th? That might be the day. Bummer to have to wait that long!

So this is basically what I posted in the VZW Android forums, which sounds like the same source of info here, but I can see them holding off until November 29 for Black Friday deals (which are utterly stupid imho), but I’m not very sure that a phone that is $299 on a 2-year contract is the kind of thing that they would push for Black Friday. $299 seems too high for a phone on Black Friday. Especially When you consider will have been out on every other carrier by then for $299 or more (I’m looking at you T-Mobile). I very seriously doubt they would subsidize it even further to give a sub $300 deal.

Not to mention that by Black Friday they will have a plethora of Windows phones coming out, possibly a new Nexus phone by then, and also possibly the “HTC DNA,” all of which I suspect will have a $249 (max) price tag or lower. This seems more in the range of things they would offer for Black Friday. They’ve also never launched a new device for Black Friday, but rather opt for really good deals on existing models. These existing models are typically ones that Mom & Dad think would be great for little Johnny and Suzie. Not for the target audience of the Note 2. I can’t see many of the Note 2 crowd wanting to brave the Black Friday madness.

Also, I can’t think of one time that Verizon announced that they were getting a phone, and created this long of a wait between pre-orders and shipping (iPhone 5 doesn’t count as most shipping dates got pushed back due to the phone being out-of-stock). Yes they need time to Verizon-ize the phone, but do you really think that Samsung has just been sitting on the devices over the past month or so? I’m sure they got versions out to U.S. carriers (not stores) quite some time ago so that they could brand them. If you look at the T-Mobile version, not to pick on them, it comes LOADED with a bunch of bloatware.

It may all be wishful thinking on my part, but it seems quite logical….not that everything VZW does is logical lol.

Please don’t tell me that you are citing what I said on the VZW community forum… I would hope that you have a better source than I for this entire article… Otherwise, I will gladly take your job. :) Cheers

I was told by a Verizon store rep today that they would release theirs the same time as AT&T November 9th.

The note will only be at its best with Verizon I don’t understand why they haven’t post a date. I need that phone. If I can’t get it right along with AT&T and Sprint then ill move to to the next best thing (AT&T)! I WANT BE THE LAST TO HAVE THE PHONE JUST BECAUSE VERIZON WANT TO WAIT. They can wait but I WANT!!

Relax. It’s 2 weeks. What’s the difference? Seriously, LTE coverage sucks on any other provider, if they have it at all. What’s the point of a crippled Note 2?

Talked to a rep today that said preorder tomorrow and it ships out on Oct 29th. No clue what to believe right now.

Sprint and AT&T have available for pre-order, too. AT&T is “scheduled to ship on November 6, 2012.”
