Sprint Releasing First 4G LTE Tablet on November 11th
Sprint’s 4G LTE network, which rolled out earlier this year, is as of right now only populated by smartphones. However, that will change on November 11th when the carrier releases its first 4G LTE tablet, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 which will be available in all channels that day ahead of the iPad mini 4G LTE and iPad 4th-gen 4G LTE launches on Sprint.
The carrier made its plans known today on its website saying that it would be releasing the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 tablet just short of two weeks from now. Sprint will be making it available through both online and retail channels and it’s going to cost $549.99 which is a price that will be obtained on-contract.
Sprint’s first 4G LTE tablet will offer a 10.1-inch display, dual-core processor, two cameras – one in the rear and one in front for video chatting, and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Fortunately, Samsung has promised Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and that should mean that Sprint’s will get it at some point down the road. Just when though remains a mystery.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 will be hitting Sprint on November 11.
The tablet will be offered with Sprint’s new tablet data plans which start at $14.99 per month for 300MB of 3G/4G LTE data. Those looking for more data will be able to obtain it and Sprint will be charging $34.99 for 3GB of data, $49.99 for 6GB of data and $79.99 for 12GB of data respectively.
Additionally, the carrier will be offering a discount to those who own a Sprint smartphone with 1GB of data costing them only $15 per month for example. Sprint is also waiving activation fees for a limited time.

The launch of the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 will come right before two major tablet launches on Sprint. Both the iPad mini and the iPad fourth-generation will be heading to Sprint’s 4G LTE network at some point in November.
At this point, Apple is only saying mid-November and we assume that that means that both will launch just a few days after the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. Consumers will just have to wait and see.
