Sprint Galaxy Note 2 Update Brings Killer Feature

Those who picked up the Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 2 when it arrived last month were without of its best features, that is, until today when Sprint rolled out an update that brings the Multi Window View feature to owners of the Galaxy Note 2.

The carrier announced today that an update, called L900VPALJC, has begun rolling out today to Galaxy Note 2 phablet owners and which brings a couple of new items to the table.

There are a couple of smaller enhancements contained in the update but none is bigger than the Multi Window View feature which brings powered multitasking to those wielding a Galaxy Note 2. We had heard from many people who were wondering where the feature was as it wasn’t on board the stock software. However, those questions have seemingly been answered by Sprint with this update.

The Galaxy Note 2 for Sprint just got a crucial update.

Multi Window View is one of the more intriguing features of the Galaxy Note 2 as it lets users split the massive 5.5-inch display in order to run two apps at once. So, for instance, on one side of the display, users will be able to browse the web while on the other, an app like Facebook could be running. It’s a nifty feature indeed and one of the appeals of the Galaxy Note 2 as the feature, for now, is limited to it.

Samsung will likely be bringing it to the Galaxy Note and the Galaxy S3 as well in future updates.

The update also brings some other features to the table including:

– GPS lock settings can be defaulted by corporate device administrators

– Emails go to Outbox when in no coverage area or airplane mode

– Text message notification will beep while in a voice call

Clearly not as good as the new multitasking functionality but nice nonetheless.

The software should be available right now for most if not all Galaxy Note 2 owners on Sprint and those who own the phablet should take a peek inside the device’s settings, and the Check for update function especially, to see if the new software and the Multi Window View has arrived.
