Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Jelly Bean Update Starts Rolling Out

Published

The long-awaited Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Jelly Bean update roll out has begun today as owners of Samsung’s stylus-enhanced tablet in Germany are now receiving the new software from Samsung.

The good news comes from SamMobile who reports that Samsung has begun rolling out the promised Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update to owners of Samsung’s latest tablet which debuted around the world just a few short months ago.

Owners of the German version of the Galaxy Note 10.1 will be the first ones to see the update and it will be checking in at around 300MB, meaning it’s a fairly massive piece of software.

The Galaxy Note 10.1 Jelly Bean update is rolling out in Germany.

Those who are interested in the free software can head into their device’s Settings, About and the Check for the update. If it’s available, and it should be, there will be a prompt asking to download and install the software.

After that, the Galaxy Note 10.1 will be outfitted with Google’s best piece of mobile software yet, Android 4.1. While it’s not the latest software, it’s good nonetheless as it adds a super smooth user interface, upgraded Browser, Google App drawer, more Camera app features, better Face Unlock and a whole lot more. It’s a big upgrade over the previous software, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and it should make the experience on the tablet a much better one.

There is no word about when other countries might see the software though we expect them to receive it sometime soon. The Galaxy Note 10.1 is not carrier attached which means American carriers aren’t testing or meddling in Samsung’s plans. So, that should mean a massive roll out soon, assuming everything goes well in Germany.

The update comes a few months after Samsung announced and released the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet after a lengthy delay. The slate originally was scheduled to touch down earlier this year only to be delayed and outfitted with more powerful hardware.

At the time, Samsung announced that it would be updating the device with Jelly Bean “soon.” And in the world of Android, a few months after launch is “soon.”
