It’s not even Black Friday 2012 yet, but we’re already seeing a MacBook Air for $700, beating the retail price by hundreds and the lowest price in recent memory by $70 to $80, plus there’s no need to wait in line.
The Macbook Air deal is for last year’s 11.6-inch Macbook Air, but it is still a great deal for users that want a cheap MacBook Air.
This model includes an 11.6-inch display with 1366 x 76 resolution, a 1.6GHz Intel Core i5 processor, 2GB RAM and a 64GB SSD for storage. There is no optical drive, but users can pick up an external drive for around $50. Shoppers can also pick up a free OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion upgrade.
Shoppers can nab this pre-Black Friday 2012 deal on a MacBook Air from MacConnection while supplies last. The MacBook Air is in stock and ships the same day it is ordered. This is a new in box Macbook Air, not a refurbished unit.
The 2011 MacBook Air represents a $300 savings over the current 11.6-inch MacBook Air, beating estimated Black Friday Macbook Air deals and the student discount deal Apple offers all year-long. The new model includes 4GB of RAM, but considering the savings it may be worth skimping even though there is no way to upgrade to more RAM down the road.
This is a good deal for someone who plans to use the MacBook Air as a second computer, but the small 64GB of memory may prove limiting for users that want to use the Macbook Air as their only computer. If that’s the case, it would be a good idea to invest in an external hard drive to add storage.

We expect Apple Black Friday deals to bring discounts of around $100 on the current generation MacBook Air models direct from Apple, and we may see discounts of $40 to $60 on the 11.6-inch MacBook Air from third parties like MacMall and Best Buy during Thanksgiving and black Friday.
