Otterbox Announces Cases For DROID RAZR HD And DROID RAZR MAXX HD

By  |  0 Comments

Today Otterbox announced five new cases for Android devices, two each for the Motorola DROID RAZR HD and DROID RAZR MAXX HD, and one for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.

Otterbox now offers its Defender Series of cases for the Motorola DROID RAZR HD and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2. The RAZR DROID MAXX HD version of the case will come sometime soon. The Defender Series is Otterbox’s higher end case that offers three layers of protection on the sides and back of the device. The three layers help protect the phone or tablet from drops, shock, dirt, and dust.

The Defender Series also includes a screen protector so users don’t need to worry about scratching the glass on the front of their phones. Both the DROID RAZR HD and DROID RAZR MAXX HD have Gorilla Glass, however, so they likely don’t need too much protection on the screen.Otterbox DROID RAZR HD cases

Otterbox is also bringing its Commuter Series to the Motorola DROID RAZR HD and Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX HD. The Commuter Series is a more streamlined lineup of cases. The slimmer cases don’t add as much weight or bulk to the phones, and also make it easy to put the phones in and out of a pocket. Otterbox also ships an adhesive film to protect screens with the Commuter Series.

With Gorilla Glass screens and Kevlar backs there’s an argument that neither the DROID RAZR HD nor the DROID RAZR MAXX HD need cases, but some users still prefer to have that extra bit of security. Otterbox typically makes some of the best cases for many mobile devices, and these cases are likely some of the best for the newest Motorola smartphones.

Unfortunately for many Android users the rate at which manufacturers turn out new phones means only the most popular phones get multiple cases. Of all the Android phones out there typically only the very popular high-end phones like the DROID RAZR HD and especially the Samsung Galaxy S III get cases.
