The long awaited Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update has started to roll out today bringing a bunch of killer features along with it including one currently found on Samsung’s 5.5-inch phablet, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2.

According to SamMobile, the Galaxy S3 Android 4.1.2 update is now rolling out to owners of the GT-I9300, the international version of the Galaxy S3. Per usual, the update is rolling out in phases and the international version is the first of the Galaxy S3 devices to see this update. While it’s not Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, the latest version of Android, it certainly brings quite a bit to the table making it an update that Galaxy S3 owners should be excited about.

A new Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean update has brought a killer feature from the Galaxy Note 2.

First and foremost, the update is going to be bringing the Multi-View multitasking feature that is one of the most prominent features of Samsung’s Galaxy Note 2 phablet. Multi-View is a powerful multitasking feature that allows users to split up the Galaxy S3’s display into two sections, each running a separate application. For instance, in one section of the display, users could run Facebook while in the other, be checking the web. It’s a nifty addition and one that Galaxy S3 owners should be thrilled about.

Additionally, the update will be bringing the new Gallery app that’s found in the Galaxy Note 2 software, Page Buddy, a customizable Notification panel, a keyboard similar to the Gesture-enhanced keyboard in Android 4.2, a smart screen rotation feature and more. It’s a pretty sizable update to be sure.

Of course, this roll out is only for the international version of the Galaxy S3, and for the unbranded model at that. Carrier-specific models of the Galaxy S3 shouldn’t expect this update to hit in an imminent fashion. Instead it could be days weeks or even months before this new update hits some of the carrier-branded Galaxy S3 models.

Only time will tell.
