Just a few hours after the Nexus 4 bumper case went up for sale again, it’s sold out completely with the U.S. Google Play Store no longer offering it to those looking to protect the glass back of the Nexus 4.

Earlier today, Google once again put the Nexus 4 bumper case, one of the best Nexus 4 cases available, up for order once again after a lengthy period of unavailability. Given the demand for the Nexus 4, it was clear that the case had a good chance of selling out. That has now become a reality as the bumper case is now listed as “Sold Out” in bright red letters, same as the 8GB Nexus 4.

The Nexus 4 bumper case is sold out again.

Those who were able to purchase the Nexus 4 bumper case today should see their order ship out within three to five business days which means that orders have a good chance of arriving this week. Those that weren’t able to put in an order today are going to have to wait until Google replenishes its stock. There is no telling how long that might take and given that it took the company about a month to start selling the case again, it could be a long wait.

The Nexus 4 bumper case is the official Nexus 4 case from Google and it protects the sides of the device while also offering a ledge that protects front and back of the Nexus 4. The latter is crucial because the Nexus 4 sports a glass backing that is susceptible to cracking if dropped. The case is also extremely slim and lightweight and it maintains the look of the edges.

Unfortunately, now that it’s sold out, those looking to pick one up soon will likely have to search on sites like eBay where the case can be as expensive as $60. And now that the second batch is sold out, those prices could potentially go up.

The sell out is yet another issue that has popped up with the launch of the Nexus 4. The device has only been available for a few hours on two days since it launched on November 13th and both launches were marred by site issues and increasing shipping times.

LG has blamed the Nexus 4 stock shortage on overwhelming demand.
