According to SamMobile, the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy Note 2 is now rolling out in Poland and the Galaxy Note 2 LTE Android 4.1.2 update is rolling out in Sweden. The international Galaxy Note 2 possesses a model number of GT-N7100 while the Galaxy Note 2 LTE features GT-N7105. Both updates are currently limited to these areas though we suspect that more regions will see the update in the near future.

There are not time tables currently set for other regions.

The Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update is rolling out now.

The Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for these two Galaxy Note 2 devices bring quite a bit new to the table in terms of features. The features are mainly focused on enhancing the TouchWiz experience though there are some other things at work here as well.

It appears that Samsung has made additions to the Notifications in that the panel is now customizable allowing owners to tailor it to their liking. It also now offers a way to toggle some features on and off through the menu including the device’s powerful Multi Window View feature. Users can also disable the brightness slider from within the Notification Menu as well.

The status bar is now black as opposed to gray, the browser is now improved over the last version of the app and Samsung has added Swype-like functionality to the keyboard on the Galaxy Note 2. There also is a new ink effect that is on the lockscreen.

Obviously, this isn’t as huge as the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update will be but it’s still a fantastic update nonetheless and one that owners should install immediately after getting the prompt.

No word yet on when the update is going to become available for the Galaxy Note 2 models on AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, T-Mobile or U.S. Cellular but given their past and the upcoming holidays, it could be that users won’t see it roll out until 2013.

Hmm…all of the stuff stated in the update is already included on the Verizon Galaxy Note 2 and its only running 4.1.1. Status bar is already black, and the toggles are already there as well as the brightness slider. The keyboard also already has a version of “swift flow” that brings along the swype function. Did I miss something?

I thought the same thing. My Verizon SCH-i605 already has/does all things mentioned in the 4.1.2 update but with only 4.1.1 running in it. It even has the S-pen ink effect on the lock screen. The only difference that I could find was that the ink effect is always blue. The 4.1.2 update gave a menu inside of the settings menu that let you change the color of the ink effect to 6 or so colors. Whoopdee-doo! I love this phone! I’m looking forward to Android Jelly Bean 4.2 for the photo sphere panoramic pictures. But in the meantime, I will just sit back and enjoy this beast of a phone.

Can anyone help as to why I can’t update to 4.1.2 yet? My baseband version is N7100XXALJ2. Please help. Thank you. I’m connected with T-Mobile.
