iPhone 5 Drops to $127, iPad 3 to $399 at Walmart Starting Today

The best iPhone 5 deal and iPad 3 deal of the year is at Walmart, beating out Android smartphone and tablet pricing in time for the holidays.

Walmart is currently the store with the deepest discounts of Apple products. Starting today Walmart’s iPhone 5 deal cuts the price to $127. This is a savings of $73 over Apple, and beats the recent Best Buy iPhone 5 deal by $23.

According to 9to5Mac, the deal is even better for shoppers looking for the iPhone 4S, which is now on sale for $47, $50 less than the you’ll find it at most carriers.

All of the iPhone deals come with a two-year contract at a cellular carrier. Walmart sells the iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S for Verizon, AT&T and Sprint.

Walmart now offers the iPhone 5 for $127 with a two-year contract.

Walmart also has a sale on the iPad third generation. The big box retailer will sell the 16GB Wi-Fi model of the previous-generation 9.7-inch iPad for $399. That price is the same price as the older 16GB iPad 2 which Apple still sells.

To make the deal even better Walmart will offer a $30 gift card with the purchase of the tablet starting Monday December 17.

Target also has a deal on the iPhone 4S, but not on a postpaid version. On December 16 Target Mobile locations will offer the 16GB iPhone 4S on Virgin Mobile for $399.99, $50 less than the typical $449.99 price.

While only Walmart and Target have these offers other stores should price match the sales. Best Buy should price match these deals as well as any deals from big online retailers like Amazon. RadioShack stores will also price match the deals. Some Apple stores may match the deals if shoppers ask.

These discounts are likely only available for a limited time, so anyone who wants the iPhone 5 or iPad third-generation at these prices should buy quickly. These are the lowest prices on any of these devices so far, but they are likely only in place for the holidays.

Note: Walmart erroneously stated that the deal was for the iPad 4. The deal actually is for the iPad third-generation, not the iPad 4. This post has been updated to reflect that.
