TMoNews unearthed a piece of evidence in the form of a message from HTC which asked if at least one T-Mobile HTC One S owner was interested in testing out the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update early. It appears that the update has finally hit beta and that could mean that a roll out will take place in the days or weeks ahead. Thus far, T-Mobile has not confirmed any kind of timing for the update though the fact that the international HTC One S has received Jelly Bean is a good sign that its on the way.

At the very least, the fact that beta testing is happening is a sign that T-Mobile is making progress with the update and owners should be pleased with that alone. For curious owners, there’s currently no word on how large the beta process is and it appears that it’s by invitation only given the contents of HTC’s message. So while it would be great to see HTC taking in all T-Mobile HTC One S owners, it’s probably not going to work out well for those that inquire.

Recently, the international HTC One S received its Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update, a sign that the manufacturer is making headway in getting Jelly Bean out to its HTC One Series devices.

The HTC One S is the middle family member of the HTC One Series family, one that includes the HTC One X and the HTC One V. The HTC One X in the United States has also yet to receive its Jelly Bean update with AT&T’s model still without the firmware.

Canadian carrier Rogers has said that it would be rolling out its Jelly Bean update in early January, so it could be that AT&T rolls it out then.

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is a huge upgrade over Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and it brings a number of new features to the table including Google Now, improved Notifications, a smoother user interface and more.
