Ford Sync 2.0

Ford Sync 2.0

Ford Sync and MyFord Touch are now available as an option on over a dozen vehicles in Ford's lineup, including entry-level vehicles like the 2013 Focus and Fiesta.

The Sync and MyFord Touch systems received upgrades in 2012 to deliver better performance and new features to existing cars. The Sync system includes AppLink, an app-connected feature that controls apps like Pandora on the driver's phone.

Rather than place the brains of the system in the dash, Ford relies on phones that users upgrade every 18 to 24 months. The MyFord Touch and Sync systems connect to the iPhone, Android and other phones and even work with Siri, though this requires the driver to hold the home button on the iPhone.

Ford announced a standard 5-year warranty on the SYNC portion of Ford vehicles and is planning another upgrade for many of the cars for December and early January 2013.
