MAPI Tion iPhone 5 Leather Wallet Case Review

Published

on

The MAPI Tion is a great leather iPhone 5 wallet case that holds 3 credit cards and keeps a slim profile for the iPhone 5.

The  Tion iPhone 5 wallet case is made from nice leather and comes in black, brown, tan and red.

Unlike the Sena WalletSlim iPhone 5 case we reviewed in late 2012, the MAPI Tion doesn’t use a snap to keep the iPhone and cards in the case. This makes for a slimmer case and nicer overall look.

The MAPI Tion iPhone 5 wallet case wraps high quality leather around the iPhone 5 without covering up the thin bezel or blocking any of the screen. The back of the case holds three cards, allowing us to carry a debit card, credit card and license so it was possible to leave a wallet at home most of the time.

The MAPI Tion leather iPhone 5 wallet case holds 3 cards.

The case fits tight enough to keep the cards in place, but not too tight that they are hard to get out of the case when it’s time to pay. There is room for one or two bills behind the iPhone, but the case isn’t designed with this in mind so it creates a slight bulge.

The iPhone slides into the case from the bottom, and a flap of leather slides in to keep it in place. A small flap sticks out the bottom, letting users pull on it to take the case off. This small flap of leather detracts from the clean look of the case, but we found that it’s possible to tuck the small flap into the bottom of the case for a nicer look. This makes it slightly harder to take the iPhone 5 out of the case, but the tradeoff is worth it.

A small flap sticks out of the bottom, but users can tuck it in.

The leather stops at the sides of the iPhone 5 screen, leaving plenty of room to type and tap with the case on.  The leather covers the volume buttons, but doesn’t get in the way. There is an opening for the ringer silence switch on the side of the iPhone and openings on the bottom for the headphone and lightning connection. The corners of the iPhone are not covered in leather, but the stiff leather back sticks out enough to offer protection. The front and rear cameras are open for easy access.

The MAPI Tion leather iPhone 5 wallet case is a top-notch case.

The MAPI Tion leather iPhone 5 case is one of the best leather iPhone 5 cases we’ve found and beats out the Sena WalletSlim iPhone 5 wallet case in several areas.

MAPI sells the Tion iPhone 5 wallet case online for $50.

This review is bogus. How much does this guy get paid to only say good things about products? the leather around the camera is flimsy and within a couple months of use starts to become distorted. The leather will stretch and no longer firmly hold your phone, there is a 1/8″ gap in side my case for my phone to slide around and get scratched in. Not to mention it blocks the camera unless i push the phone up to take a picture. The leather started separating around the edge by the home button, frayed and ripped. I payed the 50$ because I thought it would mean some quality went into the product but apparently not. The Mapi Rip Off case.
