SCOTTEVEST Fleece 7.0: What’s in My SCOTTEVEST at CES 2013 (Video)

Published

on

The SCOTTEVEST Fleece 7.0 is an essential part of our 2013 CES gear, allowing the Gotta Be Mobile team to carry our essential tech items at hand’s reach during the busy tech conference taking place in Las Vegas.

In a normal setting the SCOTTEVEST Fleece 7.0 offers enough pockets and weight balancing to let me leave a bag at home when I need to carry an iPad mini and other important gear, but at CES 2013 I’ve been paring it with a backpack because I rarely leave the room without at least one laptop and a tablet.

Even though I have a bag on my back, the Fleece 7.0 is one of my favorite CES 2013 gadgets because it helps me keep the gear I need within reach, helps me charge my iPhone and stay in touch with the Gotta Be Mobile team while dashing across Vegas to briefings and scouring the show floor.

What’s in My SCOTTEVEST Fleece 7.0: CES 2013

In the video below I show off What’s in my SCOTTEVEST Fleece 7.0. I’ve removed the sleeves, which zip off to quickly deal with the hot show floor, and zip back on for cool Vegas evenings.

The SCOTTEVEST Fleece 7.0 features 23 pockets, including a see through phone holder that makes talking to team members and responding to messages easy without taking the iPhone 5 out of my pocket. SCOTTEVEST also redesigned the iPad pocket, moving it to the right side and changing the design for a better fit and a better feeling while carrying the iPad or tablet in the pocket. The pocket holds up to a 10-inch tablet, but I prefer the smaller iPad mini while on the go.

I never use every pocket in my SCOTTTEVEST at once, but I do love the flexibility of having a large number of purposely designed pockets. This week I’m carrying a ZAGGSParq 2.0 in one pocket to charge up my iPhone while on the move and I have the Galaxy Camera on Verizon in another pocket for fast access to the camera’s 21X optical zoom.

Use the iPhone while it’s in your pocket with the SCOTTEVEST Fleece 7.0.

Another nice feature of SCOTTEVEST gear is the built-in personal are network wire guide. These open areas between two layers of fabric make it possible to run a headphone cord from the top of the jacket to the phone pocket, keeping the cord out-of-the-way. I’ve used this feature to make phone calls, FaceTime with my Wife and listen to videos before uploading them while walking on the show floor.  Without this feature I’d be constantly trying to keep my headphone cord from catching on someone’s bag or getting in my way when I sit down to write.

The SCOTTEVEST Fleece 7.0 includes several smaller pockets capable of holding SD cards, microphones and other small, random adapters that are easy to lose in a bag. The right side exterior pocket includes an elastic strap that holds a bottle of water without it awkwardly jostling around. Another ice surprise is the pocket designed to carry a pair of sunglasses, which includes a pull out screen cleaner suited for mobile devices and keeping my glasses clean throughout the day.

The new SCOTTEVEST Fleece 7.0 loses the reflective piping, offer a toned down look that frankly makes wearers look a little less geeky.

The SCOTTEVEST Fleece 7.0 is $160 from SCOTTEVEST and ranges in size from XS to XXXL.
