AT&T Adds Lenovo IdeaTab A2107 Tablet to Lineup

AT&T Mobility has announced that it is now carrying the Lenovo IdeaTab A2107 Android tablet to its product portfolio. The IdeaTab A2107 will be a more budget 7-inch tablet with a resolution of 1024 X 600–not quite the 1280 X 800 resolution display on the Nexus 7. The device will come with 1 GB RAM, a 1 GB processor, and 2-megapixel rear camera.

The tablet will retail with 4G HSPA+, but it doesn’t look like LTE will be part of this package, for just $200 without any sort of contract. AT&T also has a Mobile Share plan that will allow users to add the tablet to their existing data or smartphone plan for an additional $10 per month.

lenovo-ideatab-a2107The IdeaTab A2107 also has support for GPS so users can use the tablet to navigate, look up directions on Google Maps, or check-in using positioning to popular services like Foursquare or Facebook. The tablet launches with Android 4.0.

And even though the tablet retails for $200 without a contract, users who want to sign a two-year agreement can save $100 off making the tablet just $100. Though the savings here appear to be lucrative, we wouldn’t recommend users choose this option as signing a contract means that users are guaranteed to commit to at least $240 for a period of two years with the Mobile Share tablet add-on. Users who do not commit to a contract can stop and start a data plan at any time without any penalties so if you’re traveling domestically and are away from WiFi for a month, you can add a mobile broadband data plan for just that month and then you can cancel the plan next month when you return home to more convenient WiFi coverage.

According to the carrier, the Lenovo IdeaTab A2107 will only be available on www.att.com and will be available for both business and consumer customers.
