The launch date of Apple’s next iPhone, presumed to either be called iPhone 6 or iPhone 5S, has once again been tabbed by an analyst for sometime this summer, specifically during June or July.

Thus far, several analysts have predicted that Apple will bump up the iPhone 6 release date to the summer, rather than in the fall, the season that Apple has used to announce and release its previous two iPhone models, the iPhone 4S and the iPhone 5. Thus far, the potential launch months that have cropped up include May, June and July with June right now being a leading candidate due to it being the month of WWDC, Apple’s yearly developer conference.

Yet another analyst believes the iPhone 6/iPhone 5S will be out this summer.

Today another analyst, who has been accurate in the past with his predictions, suggested that Apple will indeed be bumping up the iPhone 6 or iPhone 5S launch date to the summer in either June or July.

KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo today produced a new outline, first shown by MacRumors, of his Apple predictions for 2013. In terms of the iPhone 6 launch date, Kuo thinks Apple will debut it at some point in June or July. Kuo believes the iPhone 5S, as he calls it, will bring some new features to the table including a faster A7 chip, a fingerprint sensor and a new rear camera that includes a f2.0 aperture and a smart LED flash. The design, he believes, will stay similar to the iPhone 5’s.

Kuo, like several other analysts, believes that Apple will also introduce a cheaper iPhone, a revamped iPhone 5 that will include several aspects that have already been rumored. One, a plastic design and two, several different color options. He also thinks that the device will be thicker than the iPhone 5 with a design that checks in at 8.2mm rather than 7.6mm.

He believes that Apple will sell the device, unlocked, for a price between $350 to $450. That’s more expensive than what Google asks for the Nexus 4 unlocked, with prices that range between $299 and $349, but much cheaper than the $649 unlocked price tag of the iPhone 5.

Kuo’s iPhone 6/iPhone 5S launch date prediction comes shortly after another analyst, Peter Misek from Jefferies, released a note saying he too believes Apple will release an iPhone 5S in June but says that it will be a minor upgrade and that Apple could release a 4.8-inch iPhone 6 at some point this year as well.

Why do people keep letting Apple do this to them. There is not much if anything to gain by purchasing a new phone every few months or even every year. If you have a 4 or 4s wait for the 6.
The only benefit is for Apple.
