Sprint Galaxy Nexus Android 4.2 Update Now Available
It appears that the Sprint Galaxy Nexus Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update was a lot closer than originally thought as the update has emerged on Google’s servers today, available to those that want to download and install the update before it rolls out Over-the-Air.

Earlier today, it appeared as though the Sprint Galaxy Nexus Android 4.2 update was close. How close though, remained unclear. Google though has cleared that up as the update is now available through its servers, thanks to a discovery at XDA-Developers.
The build, which is GA02, brings the 100MB Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean update to users of Sprint’s Galaxy Nexus. Android 4.2.1 is the latest version of Jelly Bean from Google and it will bring all of the features that come with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, the operating system that Google released back in November.

This appears to be the same version that leaked out for Sprint Galaxy Nexus owners yesterday and those looking to try it out for themselves will have to follow a few steps to get the firmware up and running.
The Sprint Galaxy Nexus has beaten the Verizon Galaxy Nexus to Android 4.2.
Those that have never installed an update this way should wait for the official OTA roll out from Sprint, a roll out that should not be too far behind this release. This is an official release from Google but there is no telling what might happen when trying to manually install it.
So, it appears that once again, Sprint has delivered a major Android update to its Galaxy Nexus ahead of Verizon with Verizon Galaxy Nexus owners still waiting for their update to Android 4.2.
Android 4.2 is a minor update from Android 4.1, but it delivers several new features that make it an update worth upgrading to. Some of the most popular features are Photo Sphere which allows users to take 360 degree panoramic photos, the new Google Gesture keyboard that delivers a Swype like typing option and a better Google Now experience.

Wholeheartedly agree my friend. We wholeheartedly agree. Verizon’s greedy reps suck massive harry sweaty & funky goat balls. Absolutely the worst company. Greed is not good. And their lame attempt at saying it’s because they want it bug free to me is horse shit. Why update a capable phone which extends the life of devices plus takes man hours and money to focus on (which should come from Google anyways) when you can either ignore the update all together or frustrate the customers by taking forever so they’ll upgrade to a new device. Google should just do this for ours as well. If Google not putting the new Nexus 4 on Verizon is any indication of how awful and controlling they are isn’t enough proof I don’t know what is. Everyone knows this update is a few new features and bug fixes not a major update by any means yet it’s taking them how long now? Verizon Nexus owners are how many updates behind the others? Enough said. Anyone who wants timely updates on Android don’t go to Verizon. They’re absolutely terrible they have the worst track record with updates and sometimes they just won’t even do it and say sorry it’s not feasible even after they promise or lie to sell more phones. I guess it’s easier to lie to their customers & once they have them in a 2 year contract then say oh we are sorry I know we said this phone was going to receive OS updates but it just not possible enjoy your buggy phone for the next 2 years.
