Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.1.2 Update Hitting More Users Next Month

Published

on

Believe it or not, there are still some Samsung Galaxy Note 2 users out there who are without the Multi-Window View multitasking feature. Many of those Galaxy Note owners live in Canada where the update has been slow to arrive. Fortunately, it appears that the update will be rolling out soon thanks to a confirmation from the Canadian arm of Samsung, Samsung Canada.

One of the most powerful features of the Galaxy Note 2, and now the Galaxy S3, is its Multi-Window View functionality that allows users to truly take full advantage of the massive displays on both of these devices. The feature allows users to split up the display of the Galaxy Note 2 into two halves, with each halve running a different application. For example, one side of the screen could be running Twitter while the other half has email open.

The Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update with Multi-Window View will hit more users next month.

It’s a nifty multitasking feature and one that is, in particular, perfect for the Galaxy Note 2’s massive 5.5-inch display. Problem is, some Galaxy Note 2 owners still don’t have the feature enabled.

Specifically, owners in Canada on carriers Rogers, Bell, TELUS and SaskTel are without the Multi-Window View feature. The update, which we thought might arrive this month, seems to have been pushed back to February for all of these carriers, this, according to a statement provided to MobileSyrup by Samsung Canada.

Samsung Canada claims that these updates will roll out in early February though it remains mum on any sort of specific date for the update’s roll out. We imagine that the date will vary from carrier to carrier meaning some Galaxy Note 2 owners in Canada will have to wait longer than others.

Once that wait ends though, the Galaxy Note 2 will be a much improved device and finally have access to one of the better Nature UX features that Samsung has introduced.

So, for those who may own a Galaxy Note 2 on one of these Canadian carriers, be on the look out for an update, as it should come within the next few weeks if Samsung keeps its word.

Any Note 2 owners out there who can recommend the best note-taking/organization apps? I just got mine, and it also happens to be my first Android device. I have to say, I’m not in love with S-note. There is a glaring lack of a system-integrated to-do list. I would actually like to keep 4 to-do lists, with reminder notifications and links to other notes.

Any Do is nice for to-do lists. Evernote is one of the better note apps.
