T-Mobile Nexus 4 Out of Stock Online, Check Your Local Store

Just a day after the T-Mobile Nexus 4 arrived back in the carrier’s online store for purchase, the device is again listed as ‘Out of Stock’ leaving interested parties looking at their options.

The Nexus 4, Google’s current Nexus smartphone, has been extremely hard to find in the past few months due to lack of supply. Google’s Play Store has been completely sold out of the unlocked version of the device since December and the carrier-locked version on T-Mobile has been struggling with its own supply issues as well. And that’s why it was big news when the Nexus 4 came back into stock at T-Mobile earlier this week.

The Nexus 4 is out of stock again at T-Mobile’s online store.

Just like that though, the Nexus 4 is sold out once again through T-Mobile’s online store leaving potential customers looking at alternative methods of picking one up. One of those options obviously is to wait for supply to arrive once again. However, that’s been sporadic at best. Another option is to wait for the device to come back to the Google Play Store, something that should happen in mid-February, yet, there is no guarantee that stock will last.

Maybe the best option that consumers have at the moment is to check through local T-Mobile retail stores. We’ve contacted several in California and Ohio that have Nexus 4 stock at the moment and physical retail locations appear to be the best bet for those looking to snag one of these devices right this moment.

The Nexus 4, which launched back in November, replaced the Samsung Galaxy Nexus as Google’s current Nexus smartphone. Unlike the Galaxy Nexus however, the Nexus 4 has been tough to find for going on three months now.

In November, the device immediately sold out through Google Play and T-Mobile, only to return and sell out again. Shipping times were then shown to be in the months not weeks and it’s at that point that Google cut the cord on the 8GB Nexus 4, propping up a sold out sign instead of an “Add to Cart” button. Soon after, the 16GB Nexus 4 sold out as well. Both have remained sold out through Google Play since December.

There are now rumors of a new Nexus smartphone coming at Google I/O in May, but given that Google typically gives the Nexus a year cycle, it would be odd to see an announcement. Still, with these supply issues, anything is possible at this point.

The N4 seems to be a big joke, and Google and LG are laughing their collective asses off. I ordered the 16GB N4 around dec 6, still have to hear anything from google.

Why make a phone if you don’t want to sell it? If you do want to sell it, why not make some more? If you can’t make more, why not sell it at a price where demand won’t exceed supply by that much?
How in the name of science you don’t expect a top end phone at half the price of any other comparable device, and without the crapware most android phones come with, not sell like crazy?

Theese might be questions for which we will never know the answers.

I feel your pain. I ordered Dec 5, and as of last week the estimated time to ship is 9-11 weeks =(

They’re oddly inconsistent. I ordered mine on December 14th and got it 2 weeks ago. It’s worth the wait, so hang in there!

Happy to hear T-Mobile is doing good with selling this phone. They deserve it, they are the only good carrier in this country.
