Samsung Galaxy S4 Render Shows Sleek New Design

Published

on

The Samsung Galaxy S4, maybe the most anticipated smartphone of the first half of 2013, has emerged in an unofficial render today showing off what a Galaxy S4 design using metal could look like.

Samsung’s Galaxy S4 is one of the most anticipated smartphones of the year. Fortunately (or maybe unfortunately), Samsung keeps its Galaxy S devices under lock and key which means that while feature leaks are possible, leaks concerning the design and look of the device are virtually impossible.

Update: As we thought, this is a fan-made render, not the real deal.

This is likely not the Galaxy S4, but it looks good nonetheless.

With the Galaxy S3, we didn’t see the final design leak out to the surface until the day of the device’s launch event. That’s unprecedented in the world of Android and a testament to the type of security Samsung has adopted for its yearly flagship smartphone release. And while it’s great for Samsung and those who like surprises, it means that consumers will likely have to go blind into the Galaxy S4 launch.

What this means is that the Galaxy S4 render that leaked out today, courtesy of Android Community, is more than likely a fake though, it’s a fake that includes a design that many consumers might actually want to adopt.

This latest render of the Galaxy S4, likely done by a fan, shows off a device that employs what appears to be metal of some kind, maybe aluminum. We also see a list of specifications that are supposedly on board the Galaxy S4, many of them rumored specifications of the real Galaxy S4.

We see a 5-inch 1080p display listed. We see a quad-core processor listed though it’s not the Exynos 5 Octa which showed up in supposed benchmarks. We see three storage space options, same as the Galaxy S3, though something we feel unlikely with the Galaxy S4. We also see Corning Gorilla Glass 3, something we said might dictate the device’s release date, 2GB of RAM, and a 3,100 mAh battery which is much bigger than its rumored 2,600 mAh battery.

Another Galaxy S4 mock up.

Of course, this isn’t official and we doubt it will be what the Galaxy S4 actually looks like when it launches later this year. Same goes for the two other Galaxy S4 images that we’ve seen though they seem a little more plausible than this given Samsung’s penchant for using polycarbonate plastic designs.

The Galaxy S4 is currently pegged for a March 22nd launch date with a release coming at some point in April. Samsung has yet to confirm any of those dates however so the device, its features and its release details remain unconfirmed.

I am planning on upgrading this phone by November (seems so faraway). I hope it does well. I will anxiously await reviews on this phone. I can’t wait.

This is by far the best render i have seen for any phone…love the front facing speakers…I know the S4 will look nothing like this…but after seeing this almost anything else will be a dissappointment…

They should abandon the physical home button… Google clearly is progressing the android software for on screen buttons…

The physical home button is a real pain n really makes the operation of the Galaxy devices inconvenient, cos the other buttons r capacitive! Had all the buttons been physical that wud have made sense, but the abrupt mix of capacitive n hard button isn’t at all proper or very feasible! So far this has been 1 of the main drawbacks of Galaxy phones! Also, I really hope Android 5 (KLP or whatever it’s called) gives better headset controls n media buttons which even the humble old Nokias had ages ago! The 1 button Android headset is really pathetic! It’s high time Google took care of such basic things in Android!

The processor is almost certain to be the Exynos 5 Octa with big.Little processing! Samsung are not such fools to put just 4 power hogging A15 cores, which’ll suck the device dry in a couple hours! Rest of the specs seem realistic, but I’m not entirely sure how many of ’em will make it to the final retail version of the S4! Gorilla Glass 3 is probable and I’d really hope for a 3000 mAh+ battery!

looks nothing like an iphone 3gs, that person must be smoking crack.. and I hate the metallic rendering, looks like a cheap HTC, reminds me of the thunderbolt, the only thing I can really say is I hope they drop the curve design thats on the sg3, I hate it..
