In late January, third-party retailer Pure Mobile put the Nexus 4 Wireless Charging Orb, the device’s official wireless charger from LG, up for pre-sale with shipments due out in a few weeks. That listing is currently shown as out of stock though fortunately, for Nexus 4 owners, the Wireless Charging Orb has made an official appearance today on the Google Play Store.

The Nexus 4 Wireless Charging Orb is now available in Google Play.

The LG-made accessory has quietly shown up at Google Play and is listed as shipping out in less than a week with a price of $59.99. This is the same price that Pure Mobile first offered the accessory for. Given the popularity of the Nexus 4 and its accessories, we don’t expect that shipping time to last though we do expect it to hold up without selling out with weeks of waiting.

Google and LG have managed to keep their Nexus 4 supply and Nexus 4 accessory supply under control and while shipping times for the Wireless Charging Orb may increase, don’t expect the type of issues we saw accompany the Nexus 4 when it arrived in November.

The Nexus 4 Wireless Charging Orb is a Qi compatible charger that wirelessly charges the Nexus 4 and keeps the device in both landscape or portrait mode. As we’ve pointed out, the wireless charger is a much desired accessory for use on a desk or a nightstand. Users can also choose to view photos with the new Day Dream mode in Android 4.2 while the device is charging.

The accessory’s arrival comes just a few weeks after the Nexus 4 made its return to the Google Play Store after a lengthy sell out. It also comes several months after Google first debuted the wireless charger, which it did alongside the actual Nexus 4 back in November.

The company had been extremely coy about its arrival and even today, the device has slipped into the Google Play Store rather silently.
