Nexus 4 Games

The Nexus 4 is a capable portable gaming machine, and many of the best games are already available, with no need to wait for a port from the iPhone.

You'll forgive me if I skip over Temple Run 2, and head into games that are more than an endless runner with monkeys. My favorite nexus 4 games include old school games, classic console games and plenty of tower defense games.

Canabalt HD - Canabalt is a straightforward run and jump game, pitting users against a background crumbling urban of buildings, construction and rooftoops. Oh yeah, and aliens.

RetroArch - RetroArch lets users play NES, SNES and other classic console ROMS so it's possible to replay old favorites like Mario and Sonic.

Max Payne - Max Payne for Mobile brings the classic Max Payne game from consoles to the Nexus 4, offering a fun gaming experience with touch controls.

SHADOWGUN Dead Zone - Dead Zone is a fun continuation of the SHADOWGUN games that delivers good looking graphics and fun gameplay.

Grand Theft Auto 3 - The classic Grand Theft Auto experience on the Nexus 4. Enough said.

BackBreaker - BackBreaker has a few graphics glitches on the Nexus 4, but it's still a fun Football drill based game I enjoy playing.

Anomaly HD - Anomaly HD is a reverse tower defense game, offering routes, upgrades and weapons to beat the AI. It's a great take on tower defense.

Jetpack Joyride - Jetpack Joyride for Android is a fun game with plenty of changing goals and powerups to keep things interesting.

Edge & Edge EX - The Edge games are part puzzle, part maze, putting players in control of a square that must be controlled to an end point. Hours of fun.

Fieldrunners HD - Fieldrunners is a great tower defense game with a variety of weapons and is hours of fun.

PewPew 2 - Take control of a small craft with guns to take on neon enemies in this fun top down game with easy controls and an entrancing soundtrack.

Plants vs. Zombies -This is another great tower defense game with a fun twist. Users must protect their house with plants capable of killing the zombies.

Osmos HD - In Osmos HD gamers control an orb, with the goal of absorbing other smaller orbs in increasingly challenging levels, with a great soundtrack.

The Dark Knight Rises - This fun batman game offers a good story, decent on screen controls and good gameplay.

World of Goo - Use Goo to build bridges in this physics puzzler.

Thanks for posting on all of these great apps and widgets, Josh. There’s a lot here, so I’ll wait until I get home from my shift at DISH to sit down with my Nexus and check them out. I’d like to suggest my favorite app, DISH Anywhere. I use it to watch live TV or DVR recordings on my phone. It’s a great way to kill time on my commute to and from work every day.

apps you telling are very basic apps. those are just informers. if you really want featured apps let me tell you…
1- tasker (looks hard but very easy and excellent when you use to with it)
2-Light manager (if your phone have led light notification)
    3-HD Widgets
4-NFC Tasker (if your phone have NFC)
5-4shared (to download free, all paid apps)

Tasker is best in all android apps. if you use to with it then no need to buy and battery saver or call blocker or sms apps…it do all work alone.
