Black HTC M7 Surfaces, Looks Like the iPhone 5

Published

The HTC M7 (HTC One) is heavily rumored to be HTC’s next flagship smartphone and it’s widely believed to be launching at an event next week. However, the device just can’t seem to stay in the shadows and it appears that another leak has emerged in the form of the black HTC One model that is said to be joining the white and silver variant.

In recent days, we’ve seen the rumored HTC One, formerly known as the HTC M7, emerge several different times. Specs have leaked to the surface, launch and release dates have emerged and we’ve also gotten a glimpse at what very well could be the HTC One itself.

This could be the black HTC M7 aka HTC One.

A previously leaked image seemed to show a white and silver device with the new HTC Sense 5.0, a device that seemed to reveal itself on stage with HTC CEO Peter Chou as well. We’ve heard rumors that there will be another HTC One variant, a black colored model, and it looks like an image of that device has emerged from hiding.

The black HTC One, or what appears to be a black HTC One, has made an appearance at UnwiredView, showcasing the same device that we’ve seen, only in a different shade. Again, the image shows a device with two buttons on the bottom part of the phone, the HTC logo in the middle of them, and of course the date of February 19th in New York City which is the time and place for one of HTC’s launch events.

The silver model depicts February 19th as well but it shows London, the site of a similar launch event, and not New York City.

HTC’s device white variant indeed looked quite a bit like the iPhone 5 both from the front and back and this model also looks strikingly similar to the current-generation iPhone which launched in September of last year.

The HTC One is expected to launch on February 19th.

It’s possible that what we’re looking at winds up not being the HTC One but chances at this point appear slim. It lines up with the rumor we heard yesterday about the device having a front metal casing with stereo speakers placed in the front.

We also heard that in addition to arriving in Europe on March 8th that it will apparently touch down on AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile on March 22nd for $199 and $299. $199 for a 16GB model and $299 for a 32GB variant of the HTC One.

The device, which will likely become HTC’s latest flagship, is expected to feature a 4.7-inch 1080p display, quad-core processor, 4.3 Ultrapixel camera, 4G LTE data speeds and Android Jelly Bean.

Because you can’t have a rectangular phone made of metal without it looking like an iPhone.

I’m so sick of hearing that crap. The phone looks better than the iPhone 5 and it’s the first decent Android phone to use something other than plastic. Just be happy.

Is this not coming to Verizon? If not, then I guess I will have to wait until July to get the Motorola X Phone.

It appears to be coming to Verizon but not till they manage to get their bloatware on it. I wish HTC would stand up to Verizon and say this either comes out the same time as the other carriers or you don’t get it. Oh and btw we won’t be making you a special DNA + version for you either.

I expect this to be my next phone. It will be a nice upgrade for my DINC2. I just hope I don’t have to wait too long to get it.

I am with you there… I am with Verizon as well, and eager to get my hands on a new slab. However, it has been revealed that there is a different model in the works for Big Red, and it will have a microSD slot, which IMO makes it worth waiting a bit longer. Not to mention that that I’d find it hard to imagine that they would release something inferior later down the road. They probably would have been better off skipping on the ultra exclusive DNA. I agree though; if the XPhone comes first, then HTC proves how bunk its strategy is for certain consumers, and Motorola will likely get my money instead.

WOW. Why are you comparing this to the Iphone 5. Because of the bars at the top and the bottom. That and that alone makes you think of the “BACK” of the Iphone5. The iphone does not have stereo speakers on the front. It is solid. Does not have them on the back. This phone has Stereo Speakers on the “FRONT”. While the rest is the screen. So please, since you left it out of your article, tell my why it looks like an Iphone. Because it’s rounded corners?

I guess you have to make phones a perfect circle to not rip off the iPhone in some peoples minds.

Beautiful phone with superior specs. This phone is near perfect as others have said. It has a screen that is 4.7 inches(sweet spot, IMO) with 468PPI. The camera will be superb as HTC has been a leader with their phone camera technology. Memory even without an SD slot will be huge 32GB, 64GB. only thing of question will be the battery and it will likely suffice at 12+ hours. I am stuck with Verizon and my Inc2 currently ready to upgrade, hoping they get it within 2 months of U.S. release or I may be jumping ship to ATT. I would go with DNA, but feel 5inches is just too big for my like. I am a big fan of HTC and their build quality along with stellar specs across the board.
